"I've worked with many owners and rescues, but the dedication Casey and Erin have for their mustangs operates on a different level. They don't just drop a horse off and walk away; they are incredibly hands on, consistently visiting and checking in to ensure every horse is progressing comfortably. They have a true gift for selection - finding those specific rescues that have the mind and heart to succeed as partners. It's a privilege to work with a team that is so committed to setting these horses up for a great future."

Frequently asked questions

5-Stars-Moss-Burnt-Orange.png
  • This is a crucial piece of our process. Because the need is so immense, we must remain very targeted in order to ensure high adoption success rates. We focus on at-risk mustangs often found in kill pens or auctions where their future is very uncertain. We look for horses that we believe have the potential to be successfully rehabilitated and adopted into a forever home as a riding horse - typically targeting mustangs in the 4 to 6 year old range that are friendly and halter broken, yet lack the professional training necessary to be a safe partner.

  • We handpick professional trainers who have a proven track record with mustangs and come to us with excellent referrals. We believe every mustang is unique, with different personalities, learning styles, and past experiences. Some arrive with significant 'baggage', while others simply need to be shown the ropes. We use our initial rehabilitation and decompression period to carefully assess each horse and determine exactly what they need. Whether they require basic foundational work, help breaking bad habits under saddle, or need exposure and time on trail, we match them with a professional suited to those specific goals. Once matched, we remain very hands-on throughout the entire training process to ensure the horse is learning, thriving, and set up for success. The training process can take anywhere from 3 months to a year.

  • We are committed to the lifetime safety of our animals, regardless of their rideability. If a horse is not suitable for riding, we keep them in our care as long as it takes to find a safe and loving, non-riding forever home. Additionally, our adoption contracts include a 'first right of refusal' clause. This ensures that if a horse ever needs to leave their new home, they come back to use - never to an auction or uncertain situation.

  • It starts by exploring our stories on social media and the 'Adopt' section of our website to see if a specific mustang speaks to you. If you find a connection, please fill out the adoption application linked directly under the horse's bio. From there, we'll set up a call to get to know you better. We highly encourage serious potential adopters to come and meet the horses and get a chance to spend time with them and ride them. Potential adopters can not only speak to us, we encourage them to also speak with their trainers and get involved with their training journey. To us, adopters become family - we love to stay involved, go on rides together, and keep our community close long after the adoption is official.
